냉동감자를 쓰는 맥도날드와는 달리 감자도 그 자리에서 통감자를 스틱으로 만들어 튀겨주고, 버거 안에 들어가는 고기도 그 자리에서 만들어 주구요, 뿐만 아니라 필요한 것을 주문하면 주문하는 사람의 입맛에 맞게 다양한 버거를 만들어 준답니다.

이런 이유 때문에 In-N-Out 버거의 메뉴는 정말 정말 다른 fast food restaurant 보다 단순해요.
그렇지만, 메뉴판에 없는 숨겨진 메뉴들이 많답니다. 그것을 알려드리려구요...왕~ 정말 유용하겠죠?



메뉴판을 보세요. 완전 단순하죠?
버거도 딱 3개: 그냥 버거, 치즈가 들어간 치즈 버거, 패티가 2개, 치즈가 2개 들어간 더블 더블.
그 외에 프렌치 후라이, 밀크 쉐이크와 각종 음료가 전부....
그래서 주문이 엄청 쉬울 것 같죠? 그러나 처음 여기가면 의외로 주문이 쉽지 않아요. 처음 갔을 때만요..

일단 쉽게 주문하려면 메뉴판 맨 위에 ordering as easy as 라고 쓰인 바로 아래
숫자, 1, 2, 3 이 적혀 있는 것을 보시구요

이렇게 하세요....

그러면 직원이 이렇게 묻습니다.

버거 번 Bun 안에 양파를 넣겠냐? 말겠냐? 라고 물어 보는 것인데, 처음에 멍청하게 무방비 상태로 있다가는 무슨 말인지 몰라서...안들려서....급 당황하고...멍하게 있습니다.
그럴 때는 꼭 물어 보세요? pardon? sorry? say that again?

그리고 양파를 원할 때는 with onions!
그렇지 않을 경우에는 without onions! 라고 말하면 됩니다.

그리고 더 더 더 중요한 것은 이 In-n-Out 버거에서는 덤으로 토마토나 상치 등 야채들을 더 넣어 달라고 할 수 있어요. 당근 무료죠...그래서 저는 늘 토마토, 야채를 더 달라고 한답니다. 공짜니깐. 공짜는 양잿물도 마시잖아요. 아무리 돈 많은 유학생이라도 공짜 야채를 신선한 야채를 공짜로 더 먹을 수 있으니...좋죠?

이렇게 덤으로 다른 야채를 더 달라고 할 때는 이렇게 하세요

그런데, 어떤 사람들은 징하게도 야채를 싫어하는 사람이 있어요.
함께 인앤아웃 버거집을 늘 같이 갔던 베트남 친구가 있는데, 야는 인앤아웃 버거집을 가면 꼭 이 야채를 빼달라고 하는데, 이렇게 말합니다. No onions, no pickles and no lettuce….” blah~ blah~...

그런데, 뭐든지요 정확한 표현만 알면 이렇게 장황하게 잘 알아듣지도 못하는 영어로 설명할 필요가 없어요.
이렇게 야채를 모조리 뺀 햄버거를 뭐라고 하냐면요....뭐라고 할까요?
plain 이라고 합니다. 요구르트도...암 것도 안 넣은 요걸트를 플레인이라고 하지 않나요?
더 이상 “No onions, no pickles and no lettuce….”라고 구구절절 설명할 필요가 없죠.
즉, 야채를 넣지 않고 패티와 치즈만 넣은 버거를 일컬어 plain burger 라고 한다는 거
꼬옥 좀 기억해 주십사하는 바램이 있구요....하기 싫으면 마시구요...늘 말씀드리지만 절대 강요하지 않구요
사실 야채랑 같이 먹어야지...버거를 싼티나게 고기만 먹으면....정말.....

이 놈이 바로 plain burger 입니다. 야채는 없이 고기 패티만 보이죠? 완전 썰렁하죠?

이렇게 구구절절 잔소리를 했음에도 혹시나~ 그럼에도 불구하고~ 야채를 쓸데 없이 장황하게 말 들어 놓지 마시구요. 이렇게 한 마디 하세요.

언젠가 In-N-Out 에 갔는데, 옆에 앉은 한 여성이 햄버거 번(빵) 대신 양상치로 싼 버거를 먹고 있는 것을 보았습니다. 그것을 처음 보았을 때 완전 신기하더라구요. 그걸 보고 제가 가만히 있었을까요? 궁금해서 버거가 목구멍으로 들어가다가 자꾸 걸리는데....
그래서 너 이거 어디서 났니? 이거 이름이 뭐니? 왜 이거 먹니? 라고 물어 보았습니다.
결론은....탄수화물이 살찌게 만드는 주범인지라 뱃살을 걱정하는 그 여인네는 번 대신 양상치로 싼햄버거를 먹고 있었던 것이고, 그 이름은......
protein style 햄버거에 빵인 bun 대신에 고기 패티를 양상치로 싸주는 것 이랍니다.
우리나라로 말하면, 돼지 불고기, 소 불고기를, 돼지 갈비나 소갈비를 상추에 싸서 먹는 거나 마찬가지라고 우꼬양님께서 말씀해 주셨는데...네..바로 그거예요...고기 패티싸먹으나 불고기 싸먹으나 마찬가지낳아요...ㅋㅋㅋ


보이시죠? 빵대신에 양상치로 완전 둘둘 싸고 있잖아요.
이렇게 버거를 양상치로만 wrap 한 것이 바로 프로틴 스타일, protein style 이랍니다.

meal 은 만약 넘버 1 셋트 메뉴를 선택했을 때, 거기에 포함된 프렌치 프라이, 소다까지 포함된 것을 말하구요,
sandwich 는 만약 넘버 1 셋트 메뉴를 선택했을 때, 프렌치 프라이, 소다를 제외한 딱 그 버거 하나만 말하는 겁니다. 그래서 더 정확하게 I’d like a number two meal, please. 라고 주문하시면, French fries와 beverage 가 포함된 우리가 말하는 세트 메뉴가 되는 거랍니다.

in은 구속의 뜻이므로 그렇게 in 뒤에는 빼도 박도 못하는 상태가 잘 나온다

고 말씀드립니다. in a black suit 그러면, 검은 양복에 구속되어 즉,

검은 양복을 입고서 가 되는 것처럼, 상태를 잘 나타냅니다.

into 는 in의 방향성을 나타낸 것으로 강조로도 많이 쓰입니다.

그래서 상태를 강조할 때 곧잘 씁니다.

그러니 cut the hamburger in half 라고 하면 햄버거를 잘라서

반 상태로 만든다는 뜻이 됩니다.

cut it in half 그걸 잘라 반을 만든다 겠죠. 그리고 in 대신 into를 쓰셔도 되구요.

Just cut the cheeseburger in half 라고 하면 치즈버거 만 반 잘라 주겠죠.

ETM (Extracted Timing Models) basics

Introduction:
In a design Once a block has met its timing constraints at the gate level, the detailed internal timing of the block is not needed for chip-level timing analysis. For that we can create/write a timing model for that block.

Timing Model of the block

Should completely model the full input/output timing characteristics without requiring the complete netlist of the block.
Do not model every path in the block. Internal registerto register paths are generally discarded, as these paths can be analyzed at the block level using the complete gate-level netlist.


Synopsys has a tool named as PrimeTime and its most trusted and advanced timing sign-off solution for gate-level STA tool. Its accuracy is within 5% of SPICE.

Prime Time Provides following types of advance timing models.


Interface Logic Models (ILM) for hierarchical static timing analysis and sign-off
Extracted Timing Models (ETM) in .lib format for cell-based reusable IP and physical design flows
Quick Timing Models (QTM) for top-down design

ETM (Extracted Timing Models):-
Block based model (.lib)
Contents of block are hidden
Original netlist replaced by model containing timing arcs for block interfaces.
NLDM lookup tables are extracted for each of the timing arcs.
These arcs whose delay are a function of input transition and output load. This makes ETM usable with different input transition times and different output loads.
Multiple modes per model
Single PVT per model
Used for implementation (not sign-off) of IP models. Here the content are protected because the model contains abstracted timing information, without any netlist information.

유럽에서 1450년대에 금속활자를 처음 만든 구텐베르그의 이름에서 따왔지만 위키피디아와 마찬가지로 미국에서 1971년 시작된 정보공유 운동의 하나이다. 그 취지는 저작권이 소멸된(public domain) 책을 온라인으로 무료 공유하자는 것이며 ‘지상 최대의 디지털 개방 도서관’이라고 보면 된다. 더 좋은 점은 아날로그 도서관처럼 빌려보는 기간이 있고 돌려주고 하는 불편이 없이 그냥 다운로드해서 내 걸로 할 수 있다는 점이다. 2007년 8월말 현재 22,000 종의 책 텍스트가 올라와 있어, 무료로 다운로드해 볼 수 있다. 인문학, 사회과학, 자연과학 등의 고전은 대개 있으며, 문학의 경우 저작권 적용이 없는 20세기 중반까지 사망한 모든 중요한 작가의 작품이 다 있으므로, 사실 잘 이용하면 원본 책을 사느라 외국에 돈 쓸 필요가 없다(물론 영어가 가장 많고 비영어권 작가의 경우 그 해당 언어판과 영역판 양쪽이 올라와 있는 경우도 많다). 역시 단점은 영어를 모르면 이용할 수 없다는 점과, 오디오 북이나 HTML 파일 등 일부 다른 형식이 있긴 해도 대개의 다운 가능한 파일 형식이 plain text(.txt)로 되어 있어 보기 불편하다는 점이지만, 이는 모든 컴퓨터에서 통하는 형식을 지향하다 보니 어쩔 수 없는 일로 보인다. 다른 하나의 단점은 이 운동의 성격상 ‘저작권’ 문제가 있는 최신 작가의 글은 없다는 점이다.

미국은 저작권을 저자 사후 70년 인정하지만, 호주(Australia)는 우리나라처럼 50년만 인정하는 차이가 있어 미국에서 아직 저작권이 있는 것이라도 호주에서는 public domain이라는 점을 이용한 자매 사이트가 "프로젝트 구텐베르그 호주"이다(http://gutenberg.net.au/). 여기에는 추가로 1,500여 권의 책이 더 있다. 영국의 여류 소설가 버지니아 울프(Virginia Woolf. 1882-1941. 나고 죽은 해가 제임스 조이스와 똑 같다!)를 예로 들어보자. 미국의 본래 구텐베르그 사이트에는 Voyage Out(1915), Night and Day(1919), Jacob's Room(1922)까지만 올라올 수 있지만, 호주 사이트에는 Between the Acts(1941) 까지의 주요 작품이 다 있는 것이다.

한 가지 더 팁을 드리자면, 위 사이트에서 파생한 manybooks란 사이트에 가보면 보기 좋은 PDF를 비롯한 다양한 파일 형식이 제공되고 있으므로 이것도 한번 이용해 보시기 바란다. (http://manybooks.net)
